Chief Executive Officer
Gunditjmara is seeking an experienced and transformational Chief Executive Offi cer. The position has responsibility for leadership; implementing the strategic plan and business growth initiatives, strengthening of external stakeholder partnerships and relationships; financial oversight and accountability; and overarching accountability to various Commonwealth and State funding bodies, the community, stakeholders and the Board of Directors.
The ideal candidate will be a people-focused self-motivated leader with high level leadership and networking skills with a proven ability to shape and translate strategic vision into successful outcomes, communicate with influence and make sound decisions, whilst achieving results and exemplifying personal drive and integrity.
A high understanding of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector, including knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as well as a background in service delivery and working with and for Aboriginal organisations coupled with commercial business acumen would be a distinct advantage. Having a strong understanding of financial management and proven governance experience and/or previous experience working successfully with Indigenous Boards or Councils will also rate highly.

Incorporated in 1982 Gunditjmara Aboriginal Cooperative is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) that provides a range of high quality holistic community health and social support programs, principally to the Aboriginal community and other residents in Warrnambool and outlying areas. We work in close partnership with local government, other health service providers including other Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations in the Western District of Victoria, liaising regularly on the provision of health service and social welfare and community support programs.
